Nora Helmer realises that as she leaves her family behind to pursue an unknown journey fulfilling her dreams of independence and freedom, that she has made a huge mistake. She was on her way back to her childhood home to retrace her memories of ow she was growing up and came up empty and hopeless. Nora was also taking on multiple projects for a women to make extra money to continue her journey as she discovers a lot of multiple adversities that she could not overcome who she was with Torvald Helmer. She started to look at how she is living now and it was even far worse than when she was with Torvald, she started to regret everything she had ever thought she knew. She now vows to return back to her family and live happily with her husband despite their difficulties, she knows in her heart that they were compatible. Nora pictured apparitions of her children missing her insanely, as she voyages back she is fretful about her decision but when she sets sight on her husband and children she is filled with anguish and disappointment. She then there and here vows to never leave their sides again because they missed her so tremendously when she was absent for the time being.

ReplyDeleteIn the original ending Nora decides to leave but the author doesn’t clarify the feelings she has towards her final decision. When Nora is in the heat of the moment and leaves we as a reader don’t understand how the story will move from there. You ending makes a lot of sense and shows a side of Nora that we are all familiar with.
